My Black Christmas - The Art of Fashion
Taking things to new heights, this year’s Christmas
editorial was set on location at the exquisite Somerleyton Hall with access to
all areas given by the Earl himself!
Inspired by the high fashion stylings of Cruella Deville
with a dark black and white seasonal twist, this was sure to be a fabulous experience...
Working yet again alongside my creative team from last year’s
successful Snow Sprite photo shoot, Patrice from ArtLook4U was our chosen
photographer and makeup artist with Jeahan Tuddenham doing hairstyling on our
beautiful model Shannon Harwood.
I personally was really excited to finally have the chance to work alongside and meet Shannon as she has built up a great reputation in the local modelling industry.

When it came to styling each of the full looks I started off
with the idea of Dalmatian print to flow throughout. The first look being
designed on the iconic Dalmatian puppy dress was tailor made with the amazing
help of dressmaker friend, Monika R Fashion. I then incorporated hints of the print
into the makeup mood boards such as on the nails and lips and even by
handcrafting a luxurious spotted print hat to accessorise with a modern white
suit.
I really wanted to give a more in-depth feel to each outfit
so I moved onto experimenting by delving deeper into the mind of what would a modern-day
Deville diva wear over the festive season – sleek, edgy, glamourous winter furs and of course she has to maintain her empowering persona!
Christmas just wouldn't be without some sort of sparkle so I used Swarovski crystals on a pair of killer clawed gloves and embellished some platform stiletto heels too. Add in a shimmering liquid silver dress accessorised with glistening clear rhinestones and our elegant New Years party look is complete.
Very old school Hollywood glamour don't you think?..
The white suit styled outfit is all about masculinity in the feminine figure showing dominance of the working woman while exuding grace and beauty. Paired with smoky eyes and plump red lips.
And of course finally within beauty there's death because death is beautiful in its own strange way.
A key feature entwined throughout this editorial was the use of feathers, faux furs and even a deer skull. All things that once breathed the youth of life that now have been shown a new kind loving beauty from a natural death giving them once again a creative life.
What more of a better place than the grand rooms and corridors of Somerleyton Hall to showcase as the backdrop to these images. Who's walls were adorned with antlers mounted all the way up to the flourishing carved ceilings and rooms that had a many variety of preserved animals collected from across the globe...

I must say to date this could very well have been one of the most finest photo shoots we have ever the pleasure of pulling together.
A great way to end another good year.
