Field Of Dreams
One of the biggest highlights to our summer season was finally getting to work alongside a truly inspirational photographer who secretly has been on our collaboration bucket list for the past few years!
Richard Wakefield is one of the UKs most creative photographers with an award winning international recognition, and we got the privileged honour of collaborating with him on a recent shoot.
In deepest Oxfordshire, Richard and his team, including model Beck Golder and makeup artist Elle Binks-Swain, descended on an idyllic cornfield for Mystic Magic’s latest full look shoot for our Autumn promo.
A billowing burnt orange dress with matching Mohican styled headdress. The brief was to create a dreamy hot summers afternoon to showcase our latest look. The dress was handcrafted for us by the help of seamstress Monika R Fashion from yards and yards of burnt orange organza that held the most beautiful golden shimmer within its weave, and for the underlay we chose to go with a stain fabric.
Designed specifically to billow dreamily in the warm breeze, I think you’ll agree the results were stunning and it wouldn’t have been Mystic Magic without our trade mark twist, so we threw in a surreal shipwreck just for measure!
The idea we had behind this story was to envision a surreal fantasy of a girl glistening as light itself through a summers haze as she sails across a field of dreams trailing the soft fluttering flow of her dress in the breeze like the master sails to the shipwreck gallon.
My inspiration funnily enough came from the iconic scene in the movie Titanic and a clip I saw in a Taylor Swift music video.
